The CMESA’s Orientation Week (O-Week) events introduce over 500 freshman students to the Guelph Commerce culture with a bang. O-Week allows incoming students the opportunity to bond with future classmates, upper year students and faculty while being introduced to the excitement of the Guelph Commerce. It is the CMESA’s goal to ensure that O-Week is the most action packed, energy-filled days of any student’s undergraduate experience.

Meet and Greet

The smash-hit Meet & Greet luncheon provides over 200 incoming Commerce students with their first taste of the University of Guelph Commerce Culture. Students gain the opportunity to not only network with each other but to also meet the CMESA team, various other Accredited Student Organizations and some of the faculty members they will interact with over the course of their Guelph life.

Amazing Race Scavenger Hunt

The CMESA’s newest O-Week event provided University of Guelph students an opportunity to network and experience the University of Guelph campus in an exciting and casual setting. This event saw numerous Commerce Students take on and defeat teams from various other colleges on campus in a Scavenger Hunt styled event. Each team is in a race against the clock in various social, athletic and academic competitions that will build commerce pride and unite the University of Guelph Campus.

Commerce Schmooze Cruise

The long standing annual Commerce Schmooze Cruise sets sail every O-Week and is considered by many first year students to be one of the most impactful events of their first week. This is an exclusive opportunity for over 150 first year commerce students to meet and network during a truly unforgettable evening on the waters of Lake Ontario. This event involves a cruise around the Toronto Islands and features fine dining, great music, dancing and informal social activities that will ensure the event continues its strong history as a smashing success.
